how to choose a book or can you listen to your friend's recommendations?

As a librarian , I am often asked to recommend a book; that's my job, right? I like to think that I know my patrons and their reading likes and dislikes, but it is often difficult to turn that into the "perfect read". So mething that is inspiring, entertaining, catches their attention, makes them want to read more from that author or is simply a good book.
Check out this article and get a sense of how to find the perfect read.http://www.salon.com/books/laura_miller/index.html?story=/books/laura_miller/2010/07/21/recommendationshttp://www.salon.com/books/laura_miller/index.html?story=/books/laura_miller/2010/07/21/recommendations

Book Sale - Monkton Town - Wide Event

What a great day in Monkton! The town was hopping from the fire station on past the library to the church and down our country roads. People were visiting with neighbors and friends and supporting local groups. This was the scene later in the morning here at the library. Thanks to all who stopped by and supported the library.
